Automatically Saving Attachments

Is it possible to automagically save an attachment without user intervention using OSS.

I don't think your browser is permitted to save files to arbitrary places on your disk without human intervention, no. That'd be a sure way for hax0rz to load viruses onto your box.

What we are looking for would be like a filter looking for a specific file (specific subject and from user) and saving it to a specific directory. It will then be processed by another program.

That would be a great feature for us too. We really like Eudora's behavior of allowing a directory to be specified for saving all attachments, and we built an application which makes use of this. Also, I like the attachments saved somewhere independently of the email. It greatly reduces the mailbox data size I would think. Your idea of a filter would be fantastic, as then we could save just those important ones (automatically), file the rest manually, and wouldn't have all the spam ones left in the same folder.
