Sending from correct "alias" when replying to emails (doesn't work!)

Hi

I have set up Zimbra as a test, seeing if it really is better than Exchange 2010, first problem..

Receive an email addressed to an alias account, it arrives no problems, says to "name@domaina.com", however when i hit reply, its going to send it from the default account name (name@zimbra.domain.com), i can change this manually in the "from" selection box. I cant deploy a mail server like that, Zimbra knows which email address this mail arrived to, how do i get it to send it from the correct account (ive looked and cant find a setting)?

I thought this wouldn't be a problem as VMWare says Out of Office notifications go from the correct account, however it appears mails dont...

ideas please (to confirm, Exchange 2010 wont do this either, however with a plugin from IVASoft it will with no problems (and does it very well)).

You can use a Persona to set the correct details automatically. Why do you have a domain named "zimbra.domain.com"? You should have set that to the correct domain name during the install process when it asked you if you wanted to change it, you can rename it to the domain name, if you wish.

These boxes are going to have multiple domains in the same account...

domaina.com
domainb.com
domainc.com

It isnt just one domain in one account, one account will have multiple domains, is this by design that Zimbra "cant" respond using the correct "persona"?

It certainly can do that and I use that feature myself on my server.

I would assume Zimbra can, however i cant find how to do it and the test i have run seems to agree with my findings, so how do i tell Zimbra when i hit "reply" for it to search down the lists of persona's and choose the correct one to use when replying?

You change the settings in the user Preferences/Accounts section, you can configure the settings for the 'correct' address. Select a Persona and change the entries

Messages sent from this account have the following settings:

Use this persona:

Zimbra will automatically set those options when you reply to the email, you need do nothing else unless I'm missing something obvious in your configuration. The feature is described in the Documentation, search for "persona".
