Default Can not launch Zimbra 8 after already installed on remote server CentOs 6.3

    Hi everyone,

First sorry if you know that this issue exists on our forum but I don't find it.
I've just successfully installed Zimbra 8 on my remote CentOs6.3 on Amazone EC2. However I can not launch Zimbra Admin from my PC the link: https://myhostname:7071/zimbraAdmin.

I used private IP of remote server for my configuration in the Zimbra installation process.

    Some infos:
    [root@mail ~]# host -t mx mydomain.com
    mydomain.com mail is handled by 10 mail.mydomain.com.

    =====
    [root@mail ~]# nslookup mail.mydomain.com
    Server: xx.xxx.xx.xx
    Address: xx.xxx.xx.xx#53

    Name: mail.mydomain.com
    Address: xx.xxx.xx.xx

    =====
    [root@mail ~]# nslookup mydomain.com
    Server: xx.xxx.xx.xx
    Address: xx.xxx.xx.xx#53

    Name: mydomain.com
    Address: xx.xxx.xx.xx

    =====
    Let's see Zimbra status
    [zimbra@mail ~]$ zmcontrol status
    Host myhostname
    antispam Running
    antivirus Running
    ldap Running
    logger Running
    mailbox Stopped
    zmmailboxdctl is not running.
    mta Running
    snmp Running
    spell Running
    stats Running
    zmconfigd Running

Can anyone help me ? Thanks a lot !

Take a look at the log files when you start Zimbra and see what errors ther are. This 'problem' has been repeatedly covered in the forums, you need to look a bit more for the answer. Posting DNS information without any IP addresses is next to useless and the commands you've used don't actually tell us anything, a better option to check your DNS (and hosts + resolv.conf files) is to use all the commands in the 'Verify....' section of the Split DNS wiki article - that article will also tell you what to check to see if the output is correct.

Thanks phoenix, after many hours trying to reconfigure and reinstall I tested my zimbra server as following:

Have you disabled SElinux & the firewall on your server? You can test the connection by ssh into your server then issuing the command:

    Code:
    telnet mail.mydomain.com7071
If you get a connection then everything is working and the problem lies elsewhere. What happens why you try to connect to the Admin UI, what errors do you see? Is there a firewall on the machine that you're using?

    Hi phoenix,

It seems only strange at log files. It shown always https://127.0.0.0:7071.. doesn't it have to be https://ElasticIP:7071 or https://mail.mydomain.com:7071

Both SElinux and firewall are disable on zimbra server.
    Code:
    [root@mail ~]# sestatus
    SELinux status: disabled

    [root@mail /]# service iptables status
    iptables: Firewall is not running.

    [root@mail ~]# service ip6tables status
    ip6tables: Firewall is not running.
When I tested port 7071 with Telnet it looks like this:
    Code:
    [root@mail /]# telnet mail.mydomain.com 7071
    Trying 10.130.82.171...
    Connected to mail.mydomain.com.
    Escape character is '^]'.

    [root@mail /]# lsof -ni tcp:7071
COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZE/OFF NODE NAME
    java 2745 zimbra 95u IPv4 18616 0t0 TCP *:7071 (LISTEN)

    But:
    [root@mail ~]# telnet 170.122.22.71 7071
    Trying 170.122.22.71...
telnet: connect to address 170.122.22.71: Connection timed out

Where 170.122.22.71 is elastic IP of zimbra server !
The IP above is private IP of zimbra server.

When I checked 2012_12_03.trace.log and access_log.2012-12-03 they look like this:
    Code:
    [root@mail log]# cat 2012_12_03.trace.log

have you configured a new Security Group for the instance with correct inbound rules on EC2?

Oh! It works already !! In fact, I used wrong security group where there is no 7071 port declaration. Thanks a lot !

    Best regards,
