Plan B:
I have now decided to do an upgrade from ZCS 8 Opensource to ZCS 8 NE on the same server.
However, before I do, I need help/instruction on how to Backup & Restore accounts after the upgrade.
Please guide me. Thanks

If I'm not mistaken... you can simply install ZCS 8.0 NE the same way as if it were a version update (to e.g. 8.0.1). Not 100% sure about ZCS 8, but I'm sure this was the case with ZCS 6. It will leave your accounts intact, while adding NE functionality.
Of course, testing this, and making a backup of your entire /opt/zimbra will be a good idea.
Also, after the upgrade to ZCS 8 NE, the whole backup/restore procedure will be a lot easier, since the functionality is included in the admin interface.
I have read all the links listed but they dont seem relevant to ZCS8, they seem more applicable to ZCS5 or 6 .
I need to migrate user accounts to a new server or restore user accounts after upgrade from opensource to network edition. I need to move the user accounts without interrupting the user - Which one of teh posted links should I follow? I am going from ZCS8 opensource to ZCS8 NE.Quote:

In your first post you mentioned it was going to be the same server, hence my suggestion of simply "upgrading" to ZCS 8 NE on this same server.
If you're moving servers I'd suggest you install NE on the new server first and then use the built-in migration wizard (Admin login --> Tools & Migration --> Account Migration --> Migration Wizard (click the gears sign))

regarding your post above, I was about to use the migration wizard but it forces you to change the passwords of each user account. I want to avoid the user from being disrupted. Is there a way to use the wizard and keep the account settings, password, mail, calendar and contact data intact ?
I think I found something that will work. Please confirm that I can use the whats in the links below to backup and restore user accounts and that it's applicable to Zimbra ZCS 8.

You can simply run the same version of Network edition ZCS installer on open source. This would add the NE packages and then install the license.
