It should be almost instant. If you see no connection attempt in the log file then you need to look elsewhere for the problem other than at ZCS.

I did expect you'd have a look at that log file before posting some of it (a 2MB file is rather large to pore over), did you see any of these errors?
I'd also guess that the highlighted text is what's causing your problem, have you made any changes to those settings?
