Default Nagios - LDAP on Zimbra

With Nagios how do i check LDAP on Zimbra? From what i can see in Nagios, for the check LDAP it requires a "base" however looking in the Zimbra configs there is no base entry. Thanks in advance.

I just checked ours, and our nagios check appears to be just doing a check_tcp on port 389

You can create a test account to check LDAP with authentication; eg. nagios@domain.com. You need to find the DN:
    /opt/zimbra/bin/ldapsearch -LLL -x -h `$LDAP_HOST` -D "uid=zimbra,cn=admins,cn=zimbra" -w '$LDAP_ADMIN_PASS' '(mail=nagios@domain.com)'

    Where:
    $LDAP_HOST = `zmlocalconfig -s ldap_master_url`
    $LDAP_ADMIN_PASS = `zmlocalconfig -s zimbra_ldap_password`

You need the variable "dn:". Then just use the check_ldap plugin:
    ./check_ldap -H $LDAP_HOST -p 389 -D "$LDAP_USER" -P "$LDAP_PASS" -b "$LDAP_BASEDN" -3
The base DN can be "dc=com" if you don't know about it, or preferably everything without the "uid=something" part.

    Eg.:
    ./check_ldap -H zimbra.domain.com -p 389 -D "uid=nagios,ou=people,dc=domain,dc=com" -P 'yourNagiosMailPass' -b "ou=people,dc=domain,dc=com" -3

If you use passive monitoring, don't use "localhost" for $LDAP_HOST even if it's running on the same machine, use the variable in `zmlocalconfig -s ldap_master_url`.
