Default 7.2.0 and mailbox selected READ-ONLY errors

    Hello,

I've recently upgraded zimbra to 7.2.0 (from 6.0.16). It's a small server, just 2 mailboxes.

After the upgrade, which went smoothly, every now and then (once a day maybe) thunderbird complains about an operation on INBOX failing because aparently the folder is READ-ONLY. The operation can be message delete, set message read, etc.

    Restarting thunderbird fixes the problem.

I've been unable to find any error in the log files, and i'm clueless.

Any suggestion on what may be happening here?

    Thanks,
    Julian J. M.

I have noticed the same issue recently. While I can certainly deal with it, it's a bit annoying. Just wanted to see if the OP ever found a resolution. If not, anyone else have any input on this?

    Hello,

I didn't find the root cause of the problem... something related to the imap_use_ehcache flag. As my zimbra only manages 20 lowtraffic mailboxes, I just disable it with this command (zimbra user):

    Code:
    zmlocalconfig -e imap_use_ehcache=false
It hasn't happened again. What's more, after an upgrade, I tried enabling it again and the problem started.

Thanks for the reply and suggestion. If it gets annoying enough I may go with it.

I guess you've filed a bug report for that behaviour?

I'm seeing this same issue with Zimbra 7.2.2 and a Windows Live Mail IMAP client. This did not happen before the upgrade running Zimbra 6.0.12. It won't allow me to mark read or delete the messages. Closing and reopening the client resolves the issue. I'm tempted to try the workaround mentioned above, but I can't find much information on the imap_use_ehcach setting.
