Zimbra integration with Openfire

Is it possible to integrate zimbra mail server with openfire by disabling Zimbra IM, both are in separate servers.

If so, please let me know the steps to do it.

No it's not and the IM server is being removed from ZCS in version 8.x. You can find details of what's intended for IM by searching the forums, reading the ZCS 8 beta Release Notes and searching bugzilla.
