    Default How to trouble shoot POP3/IMAP4 Proxy Issue?

    Dear all

    In my ZCS implementation, I got two nginx proxy servers and few mailbox servers, one is working properly but the other cannot proxy imap/pop3 traffic but https is ok. I checked the log below, and it just showed the connection from the client connected to the proxy but no entries for the nginx to connect to the mailbox servers.

    /opt/zimbra/log/nginx.log

    I have try reboot the server, reconfigure the proxy by using the below command but still not work. So may I know any command or log file can check what is going wrong?

    /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmproxyconfig -e -m -H proxy fqdn

    Dear all

    I used a KMail to test the imap for both proxy servers, and I found this error - "The authentication method PLAIN is not supported by the server" when I use KMail to connect to the problematic proxy, but the other proxy is ok.

    Moreover, when I use "check what server support" to check what authentication that problematic proxy supported, and it only show clear text is supported, but the normal proxy show both clear text and PLANIN.

    At last, I try to use clear text to login, but it still fail and it said my password is wrong and the server replied invalid command.

    Dear all

    The problem has been solved, because the zimbraReverseProxyPop3StartTlsMode and zimbraReverseProxyimap4StartTlsMode have been configured to only, so the proxy server did not accept the unencrypted connection, and it was fixed when those two modes changed to On.
