Exclamation [SOLVED] 1 single GAL for 2 domains

Hello,

our company is formally split into 2 domains:

domainA.de
domainB.de

The GAL is set as Internal for both domains. I would like that people in each domain have in their GAL all the people of both domains i.e. let

user1@domainA.de
user2@domainB.de

user1 GAL --> user1 & user2

user2 GAL --> user1 & user2

Is it possible? Could you help me?
Thanks.

You can set the GAL search base to point to the top, which will include all domains. Something like:
Code:
zmprov modifyConfig zimbraGalInternalSearchBase ROOT
should do it, IIRC.

Thanks! this sound good: I'll try it. Just one questions:

Now the zimbraGalInternalSearchBase is set as DOMAIN in the "global settings"
(zmprov gacf) and for each domain (zmprov gd domain1.de; zmprov gd domain2.de).

If I execute

zmprov modifyConfig zimbraGalInternalSearchBase ROOT

will it change all 3 entries simultaneously (I am new in zimbra stuffs)?

Thanks.

Domains can inherit certain values from the global config if the value is unset on them. Try changing the global value and see if that also changes the value on the domains. If it doesn't, you'll have to run "modifyDomain {domain} ..." on each domain.

schemers

setting the zimbraGalInternalSearchBase to root worked for me to search across my domains, do you know of a way to auto populate the GAL when its open. Right now my users have to type in a period and then hit enter?

Thanks

Aaron

Bug 5989 - making the GAL browsable - browse > Bug 14531 - GAL via contacts folders with sorting, browsing and real sync (vote on 14531)

Relatively small number of users and if your ok with static gal list; you could copy the contents to a personal address book.
OR copy contents to a personal addressbook then share that with everyone.

We have 100 or so users across four domains, so not much to auto populate but if I copy contents to a personal addressbook and share that with everyone then I would have to manually change that everytime a user is added or removed from ldap wouldn't I?

Correct, that's why I said "if your ok with static gal list"

Hi! I want to try this, we have been running ZImbra for a month now and it is awesome!
We want to join the GALs of the different domains we have in a single server, the thing is, we would like to know if we can reverse the command, in case something goes wrong, that is
Quote:
zmprov modifyConfig zimbraGalInternalSearchBase ROOT
Thanks!
