E-mail message lifetime default

I've read in the forums that the minimum E-mail message lifetime is 30 days, even if you try to set it lower than that. For the COS I've created the default setting for E-mail message lifetime is 0 days. Does 0 translate to never delete?

There are a number of default settings in the Advanced tab with 0 as the value default and I take this to mean never. I just want to make sure this value means what I think it means.
