    Default Server down! Please help!!

    Hi,
Our server's cert expired, then I tried following Administration Console and CLI Certificate Tools - Zimbra :: Wiki

, then I tried using the steps posted by cloudmafia here Unable to determine enabled services. Cache is out of date or doesn't exist.

, but first time I didnt set the hostname properly, so tried again, and now I get lots of chown errors, ldap thinks its hostname is localhost, etc.

    I really messed it up!!
At this point, I am willing to reinstall to a new server, if there is a way to move the accounts and mail with a messed up ldap..or fix this one if possible, anything to get it going again!!!!

    Thanks,
    Jamie

Why don't you give us details of the changes that you've made to the hosts file?

What happened when you regenerated the certificates?
    Regards

Thankfully I made a backup of the vm before I damaged it too bad, and the steps posted by couldmafia all worked this time!

Only question I have now, he says here:

    #su - zimbra -c 'zmcontrol start'

    It should start services successfully.

    #/opt/zimbra/bin/zmcertmgr deploycrt self

    #/opt/zimbra/bin/zmcertmgr deployca

    Everything would be perfect here.

    #su - zimbra -c 'zmupdateauthkeys'

    #/opt/zimbra/bin/zmcertmgr viewdeployedcrt
and after doing the zmcontrol start, everything seems fine and email is sending, etc. Should I still do the other steps after that?
