    All I can say is after setting the message dupe cache to 0 we've stopped losing mail and we've not seen any duplicates.
    Frankly I value reliability over the minor inconvenience of a possible duplicate.

    Logs says Messages delivered, but not showing in user mailbox

    I was facing issue with zimbra mail forwarding for some users at some point, On checking the /opt/zimbra/log/mailbox.log, I could understand that the forwarded mail were discarded as duplicate mails since they have the same message ID.

    To solve the issue, I tried setting the parameter "zimbraMessageIdDedupeCacheSize" and I could see that all messages were forwarded properly.

    But this led to another issue, which is duplicate emails.

    Hence I could conclude that the issue recreates at times when the mail traffic is less and the FIFO retains the same message ID(queue is not removed out as mail traffic is less which creates less new entries to the queue) which leads to mail forwarding to fail.

    Am bit confused about setting a value for "zimbraMessageIdDedupeCacheSize" as it depends on the mail traffic, is there any other way to solve the issue?

    Also what is the relevance of the parameter "zimbraMessageIdDedupeCacheTimeout "

    It would be a great help if you could answer me. Thanks in advance.
