Bulk Mail

Can we send out bulk mail from Zimbra? We are an organization that sends out newsletters to about 40,000 contacts. We currently are using a mail relay company, but I am wondering if we can do all of our mailings through Zimbra? We would be sending our mail from an open source software called CiviCRM. CiviCRM allows us to set a mailer batch limit, so I was thinking of sending 50 emails per minute and have the job run each minute.

There would be no reason you couldn't do that, the mail component of ZCS is the same as any other mail server.
