Post Mailbox not responding every after some period.

    Hi,

I am facing a problem where i have to restart zmmailboxdctl every after some time when zimbra mailbox not responds.
Whenever zimbra not responds, i could not able to access webclient but i checked the zmcontrol status and found every services are running fine. But still webclient not working also the admin interface. I don't know what is wrong with the zimbra system and randamly every after 2 to 3 days i am facing this issue. I have checked the mailboxd.log and other log files but i have not found any suspected error.

My Server details are - Ubuntu 10 Server with
    Zimbra 7.1.3

    Somebody please respond with solution.

You should start by updating your forum profile with the output of the following command (do not post the output in this thread):

    Code:
    zmcontrol -v

You haven't given much detail about the problem. You can start with the specifications of the server, is this a new install or an upgrade, how many users on this server, are they IMAP (or other client) or WEB UI users, what sort of HD subsystem are you using (and what RAID level, if any), have you done any monitoring of your server (i/o usage and processes) to see where the problem may lie, have you looked at some of the other threads in the forums that cover server performance problems?
    Regards

    HI

I am using Release 7.1.3_GA_3196.UBUNTU10_64 UBUNTU10_64 FOSS edition. on dell r410 server with raid5. I did hardware troubleshooting and found everything is ok there is nothing wrong with hdd of servers. recently i have upgraded from 7.1.2 to 7.1.3 by thinking this issue will get resolve after upgradation but its not get resolve. There are mixed user like WEB UI as well as POP3 on client.

That information is no use in this thread, it should go in your forum profile.

Using RAID5 is not recommended for Zimbra - see the wiki performance/tuning articles and forum threads for further details. How much RAM on this server?

What troubleshooting did you do and what sort of figures did you see?

There is no point in upgrading ZCS to solve a problem unless it relates to a specific bug.

How many users of each type are online at specific times.

I also asked you which of the forum threads you've read on this topic, what's the answer?
    Regards

    Hi Bill,

Thanks for reply, I have search on forum for the same but noting found related to my query. I have raised the complaint to dell and they did all hardware analysis using there dell tools, Also they have updated all required hardware bios but nothing found wrong into hardware. They have generated a report call DSET report after updgration of firmware of hardware. I also have updated my forum profile.

Almost all my users are WEB UI only few specific having pop3 access.

If you need any other info please let me know. Also if you found any topic related to my problem please give me a link of that.

You're still not answering my questions, how many users are on this server. What sort of HD subsystem do you have and if it's a RAID which RAID level? Have you (not DELL) done any software monitoring of your server (i/o usage and processes) to see where the problem may lie? How much RAM is on this server? Is ZCS running in a VM? You need to search through the forums (and the wiki) for further details on some of the topics covering performance problems.

You should not be using RAID5 for Zimbra, it's not recommended, read the wiki articles about what is the preferred RAID level, you need to do some performance monitoring of the server to see where the problem lies.
