Exclamation removing .msg files directly after spam "attack"

    Hi all,

We got thousands of emails sent to us from one specific user (let's call him jdoe@mymail.com) and we would like to remove them from our clients mailboxes so that they don't have to serach through the mass to remove them.

Can this be done? I want to do a script that looks for the user in question and then removes the .msg files fron '/opt/zimbra/store' but I am worried they might be referenced elsewhere and cause more trouble than I'm in already.

    find . -type f -exec grep -l 'From: "John Doe" <jdoe@mymail.com>' {} \;

Any help would be apreciated. Pointers to documentation too.

    Many thanks.

    Default

    Look at:

Contrib: How to delete emails based on subject script

Just change to delete about sending user... also take care about arguments in

    zmmailbox -z -m $usractnopac dm $msg

As a matter of fact, just comment this line and echo variables to make sure you need.

    Regards.

    Thumbs up

    Hi,

I'm adding the solutions to the problems I had... better late than never right?

I ended up cleaning the queue which was a far bigger problem that clearing the mailboxes. I ended up cleaning the queue of all offending emails with the following command:

    Code:
    # for i in $(/opt/zimbra/postfix/sbin/postqueue -p|grep 'jdoe@mymail.com'|awk '{print $1}'); do
       /opt/zimbra/postfix/sbin/postsuper -d $i
    done
