8.0 Roadmap

I totally agree that a roadmap would be nice (as it was available before VMWare) but that is not why I am posting.

It's also been available until fairly recently and it's currently being worked on for the next major release.

WHat I would love to know is: what is server-to-server sync?

Exactly what it sounds like, a synch between two Zimbra servers - you'll find further details in the RFE in bugzilla.

Basically, I am just trying to understand if Zimbra is viable for me for another implementation. I need the features in 8.0 and I need to be ready with the server in about 6 months. So I'm not just asking for the sake of asking, I am genuinely trying to figure this out.

I guess it is what it is, and I'll have to make my decisions based on whatever information I have.

I'm afraid that I can't answer when the portal will be back online nor when ZCS 8 will be available and, as I've said many times in the forums, product releases are not pre-announced.

What, specifically, is the deciding feature(s) that you need in ZCS 8 and is this NE or the OSS version?

Off the top of my head the sharing-related enhancements are important. There's other stuff too (like OBOs with personas from Outlook).

Truth be said, I'd love to even just see the major features coming out in this new release. Even with no target release date (I can probably assume it's being released before my 6 month deadline), it would be nice to follow the release.
