Default Distribution list for outside mail - SPAM filtering seems to not apply

I have a couple of distribution lists set up.

info@companyname.com
sales@companyname.com

These both forward to a list of users that are complaining about ridiculous amount of SPAM. The SPAM they have in their inbox is indeed being sent to info@companyname.com or sales@companyname.com, and forwarded off to the individual user. Each inbox receives the SPAM and whether you choose mark as SPAM or not, it seems to have no effect other than the email gets moved to the junk folder, but a similar, nearly identical SPAM email the next day will be waiting to greet the user the next day.

These distribution lists seem to get a lot of SPAM and do not filter them at all. Am I missing some little check box somewhere or some configuration setting? Is there something different I should be doing with this method of getting emails to these addresses to a list of users?

Would it be better to set up an actual account and forward the messages to a distribution list?

Would it be better to set up an account and share the Inbox with the users that need it? (and can that be done from the admin panel somehow? Or do I need to be logged into the actual account?)

Other than that I've migrated around 40 of 70 users to Zimbra from an old Qmail server and they absolutely love it. I've been extremely happy with the features and the gui configuration. It sure beats the hell out of the very touchy at times Qmail server and all of its plugins.

Thanks in advance,
