Default Tool like zextras migration for NE?

Hi,

I have a bunch of ZCS servers, non-clustered at this moment. I need to migrate a customer with about 20 domains, forwards/aliases, lots of custom rules etc. He's now on a ZCS NE 6.x servers, and needs to go to a ZCS NE 7.1.3.

I know I can export his mailbox (including calendar etc), and reimport that, but that would mean having to redo all settings manually, creating all accounts etc.

When googling for a quicker solution, I found Zextras.com, which have a good suite to perform lots of stuff, including those easy migrations between servers, including all settings, auto-creation of the accounts etc. Unfortunately, their software is targeted at Open Source Edition users, and won't install on a Network Edition (which seems logic, as one of the components of the entire suite is an ActiveSync implementation, which would surely conflict with the NE ActiveSync).

Has anyone experience running their tools on ZCS NE? Or does anyone know of a way to perform the same easy migrations between NE versions?

Frankske,

I may be missing something, but what is wrong with the normal upgrade from 6 to 7? The upgrade takes all settings domains aliases etc made in ZCS. Unless you made changes manually in some files.

If you need assistance just let me know.

Kind regards,
Johnny

Cine@ZeXtras told me that the next version (1.2.3) will also be installable in a NE enviroment to allow NE to NE migrations.
I've already tested as partners, some import problems were fixed.

Two problems with that:

1) There is no "real" upgrade path from the ZCS I am running now (on a 32bit Ubuntu 6.06 LTS) to anything recent. So upgrade will be mess (first Ubuntu 8, then to ZCS 7, then to Ubuntu 10, but then I still have a 32 bit system, so dump + recreate to go to 64bit)

2) There are lots of occasions where you want/need to migrate a few accounts/domains, but not all of them.

That's what I ended up using. Worked great, only 1 or 2 minor caveats...
