    Default info

the server is a linux os with 5GB of Ram and 100G with Dual processors.

this is just a recent event. The box and server has worked great for months and this slow down is recent. I got it going good for awhile today and now it is slow again.

Where can I see the status of messages in the deferred queue ?

    Default 2 places

If you are just looking for deferred status, you should be able to get that in the admin UI. You could also get it if you ssh in and as zimbra user run 'postqueue -p' It will have the queue status for each message there.

Is that what you are looking for?

Is this a single server system? Or is your MTA separate from your mailbox store?

    Default timeout

    hello,

So I saw a couple of messages said a temp suspended due to a timeout.

But I still just had to stop and start zimbra to get the mail flowing again.

    Default timeout

I end up seeing this alot and then the box just hangs.

(delivery temporarily suspended: conversation with Servername[ip] timed out while sending end of data -- message may be sent more than once)

I have been seeing this a whole lot recently as well.

    My specs:
    Dual Xeon 1.4 Ghz
    2 GB RAM
    1 - 36GB - OS
    1 - 80 GB - mounted for /opt/zimbra only

I will run zmcontrol stop and start, and that will work for about 15 mins - then the queues stall again. I have posted this issue in several other threads, and have received a little help from other members, but have not heard anything much from the Zimbra employees.

My patience for baby sitting the box is wearing very thin... it would be nice to know that there is a definite bug, or if my install is incorrect...

If you can't find the answer in the forum then the simple answer is to report it in bugzilla - that's what it's for.

I didn't want to report a bug it was already there (or if it was just my setup) - i will search there though.

As a side note - I noticed this today in the zimbra.log
    Code:
    2006-12-15 13:21:57,179 ERROR [{RemoteManager: mail4.mydomain.com->zimbra@mail4.mydomain.com:22}-zmqstat deferred] [] rmgmt - error scanning com.zimbra.cs.rmgmt.RemoteMailQueue$QueueHandler@7e34db: /opt/zimbra/postfix-2.2.9/sbin/postconf: /usr/lib/mysql/libmysqlclient.so.14: no version information available (required by /opt/zimbra/postfix-2.2.9/sbin/postconf)

I searched Bugzilla, and didn't see anything relating to this issue, so I filled out a bug report. #13049

Have you had any luck with this? Our server has been having a similar issue the past few days and currently we have over 2000 emails stuck in queue. Restarts have not been much help, some mail goes but it is extremely slow, perhaps 100 emails over an hour or so. Top shows the CPU around 30%-40% idle and over 500MB of free memory. The server had been running fine the previous 5 months. We did upgrade to 4.0.3 in early November.

    Specs:
    CentOS4
    P4 3.2Ghz
    2GB RAM
    250GB Hard Disk (160GB Free)
