Default Rsyslog & var/log/messages full of logs

Hi to all this is my first post in Zimbra Forum !!!

I am using latest 7.1.3 zimbra 64bit in centos 6. By default Centos use rsyslogd for configure log activity to the system.
I notice that /var/log/messages is full logs which is the same with /var/log/zimbra-stats.log

i just disable this logs to var/log/messages by change the setting to /etc/rsyslog.conf
Code:
*.info;authpriv.none;cron.none;local1.none /var/log/messages
I want to ask the community is it safe ?? have you seen something similar ??

i have made the change bellow to my rsyslogd.conf file

Code:
*.info;authpriv.none;cron.none;local1.none;mail.none;local0.none;auth.none; /var/log/messages
It seems to work..

Moreover you will find that postfix logs activity in two files :
/var/log/maillog & /var/log/zimbra.log
its up to you which one you are going to use.

My setup :
Centos 6.1
Release 7.1.3_GA_3346.RHEL6_64_20110928134428 CentOS6_64 FOSS edition

Default Zimbra stats logs twice

comment this line is not what i want to do , that means
your serer will not log kernel info messages at all !!!
as a work around i did this

Code:
kern.info;authpriv.none;cron.none;local1.none;mail.none;local0.none;auth.none;
that seams fine now , as for duplicate maillog and zimbra.log this i dont mind
i just dont want all this garbage in the server messages log .
thanks for the reply
