Zimbra Backups Don't Work (At All) ??

So I'm setting up a new Zimbra server (I have previous Zimbra experience)

And using the Admin Console to do backups (or allowing the regularly scheduled backups to run), simply just does not work.

I've had the server up for a couple of weeks, moving data in and out of test accounts, but nothing is able to be restored.

When I try to restore from one of the backups, all I will ever get is the mail that already exists in the mailbox currently.

It doesn't matter if I try to restore to any point in time, or from the most recent backup. It doesn't matter if I restore to the current mailbox, or create a restore_ account. The only thing that happens is that the theme defaults back to carbon, but all of the messages are only what is in the mailbox currently.

Any idea why this isn't working, even though I get no error messages?

The log files seem to show that the backup process sees the messages and then includes them.... but how can it do all of this and not save any data?
