Default Restoring ZCS onto a new server, required passwords.

In the admin guide under backup and recovery there is the section on doing a bare metal recovery it states that I need the following:
  • Make sure that the account name for Admin user to create is the same name as on the original server.
  • Set the admin password to be the same as on the old server.
  • Set the LDAP password to be the same as on the old server.
  • Set the Postfix user and Amavis user passwords to be the same as on the old server
  • Change the Spam training user and the Non-spam (HAM) training user account names to be the same as the spam account names on the old server.
  • Global Document Account – This account name is automatically generated and is usually named wiki. If you changed this, change the Global Document Account name to be the same account name as on the original server.

I don't have the LDAP, postfix and amavis passwords documented and I can't find good information on recovering / changing them.

It looks like I can set the LDAP password with zmlocalconfig but I can't tell if that is going to change it in only on the server or the client and leave the other one misconfigured. As for postfix and amavis, I can't find any documentation on changing / recovering those.

ZCS 7.1

You should update your forum profile with the output of the following command (do not post the output in this thread):

Code:
zmcontrol -v

Which 'Admin Guide' are you talking about? Why are you doing this move to a new server?

This Admin Guide is the one i'm talking about:
http://www.zimbra.com/docs/ne/latest...tration_guide/

I'm doing this move to a new server because the new server will be better be able to serve the zimbra workload. Also I would like to change the server OS from Ubuntu to RHEL.

Not to mention anyone who needs to do a Bare Metal DR needs to have this information stored in their Zimbra DR playbook.

Are you talking about a Disaster Recovery type of move or just using zmrestore? The scenario you describe above isn't (AFAIK) in the Admin Guide and the page on Disaster Recovery seems to have an invalid url on that page. So, are you looking at one of the wiki pages for these instructions? Is it this page: Network Edition Disaster Recovery - Zimbra :: Wiki

You can get the passwords by using "zmlocalconfig -s" as mentioned in various notes on the wiki & forums.

Go to section 16 then down to 'Preparing the New Server'.

Thanks that command shows all the passwords that I need for the DR playbook, and to do this upcoming migration.
