Search Results are Limited

When composing a new email, and clicking on either the [TO] or [CC] or [BCC] then changing to "Personal and Shared Contacts", when I look for a keyword to email a list of people, I will only get 50 results back (in this case everyone up to the letter "M") ....this is not good, because there are at least 80 or 90 people that I need to email in the query. Is there a way to change this limit?

I noticed in the admin backend you can change the GAL search results, but not the contacts.

Any ideas? Hack the LDAP (is there a value for the limit)? Please help.
