Default How to upgrade both OS and Zimbra?

Hi

I need to migrate from Ubuntu 8.04.4 LTS 32-bit to Ubuntu 10.04 LTS 64-bit (thankfully to a new physical server) and from Zimbra 6.0.x to latest supported version, 7.1.x.

Is the any guides, how-tos out there?

regards Anders

Go to the wiki and read the certified document on moving a ZCS installation from a 32bit to 64bit environment - that subject has been covered many times in the forums.

That would be correct.

You can do the upgrade either way, on the original server or on the new server - whichever you choose.

Hi

Old zimbra is on an older server 32bit linux. Target zimbra is on a compleatly new server running 64 bit linux.

If im going to upgrade zimbra from 32 to 64 bit i need to install a 32 bit zimbra on the new 64 bit linux. and that fails:

"Error: attempting to install i386 packages on a x86_64 OS."

I don't know where to start realy but one comforting thing is that the old server will run and is my roll back plan
