Default upgrade from 3.1.4 to present Open Source edn

we have ZCS 3.1.4 in our network. We had (very old) thin clients which supported only firefox 1/2. So we had to restrict to 3.1.4. ZCS 4 onwards require firefox 3 & above. Now we have upgraded our network nodes to the present day systems. Now we need help or assistance in upgrading to the present ZCS version. Is it worth the version upgrade route or install the latest version and import mails. For us mails are the only important items and not the other collaboration data.

If mail is the only important function in this scenario then my advice would be to set-up a new server and import the mail. I'd suggest you set-up a test server and try some of the suggest you try some of the procedures for getting mail to the new server, IMAPSYNC would most likley be the easiest solution. You can also export a list of users the create them in the new server, IIRC there's a script in the forums to do that - have a quick search for it. See what you think about doing that and ask any further questions you may have.
