Default Zimbra Suddenly slows down

good day im new with zimbra i am managing our server for about a year now and im still not familiar with the errors, our server suddenly slows down then eventually cannot be accessed, what logs should i look into to be able to see what is causing the problem, when i stop then start zimbra it restores the normal operation, and i noticed that i the system reaches the full 8GB of RAM

thanks in advance

So it's been doing this for a year? If not, how long has this been happening? Have you done any recent operating system upgrades? How many users on this server? Has the number of users increased over time? Are they mostly using the Web UI, IMAP or POP3 clients?

That's perfectly normal for a linux system. Is there any swap file in use? Which processes are consuming the RAM? Have you considered upgrading to the most recent ZCS 7.x?

this just happened 3 weeks ago, it happens in the morning or in the afternoon and sometimes both, there is a 4gb swap and if the ram reaches 8gb it uses 136k in swap and then zimbra slows down
what i do is zmcontrol stop then start and it goes normal again or sometimes i clear the cache and swap

i have attached a capture of top

no recent system upgrade, we have a plan of upgrading to 7.x

all users are using web browser, roughly 700 users

server is : IBM X3400
8gb RAM (4GBSWAP)
1TB HDD
