Smile Migrating from old zimbra server to new server: Is it as easy as copying /opt/zimbra?

I've been given the task of migrating from our old zimbra mail server (Release 6.0.6_GA_2324.RHEL5_64_20100406150533 CentOS5_64 FOSS edition.) to a new server (7.1.3_GA_3346.RHEL6_64.20110928134428).

Is the migration as easy as copying over the /opt/zimbra folder to the new /opt directory then installing zimbra on the new server? I'm running across problems and it doesn't seem as easy as that. Can anyone please respond and point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

Yes, it's pretty much that easy with the proviso that you should move to the same version of Zimbra as you have on your original server. You should, however, read the certified wiki document about moving from a 32bit to 64bit server (I'm assuming that's what you're doing). There are also articles (and forum threads and blog articles) on moving zimbra form one server to another (including changing the operating system), there's also the inevitable advice to make sure you take a backup before doing the move.

Thanks for the quick reply Pheonix. I stopped the zimbra server on the old machine and synced the data over to the new server's /opt/ directory. I am in the process of installing the old servers version of zimbra which is Release 6.0.6_GA_2324.RHEL5_64_20100406150533 CentOS5_64 FOSS edition. I downloaded and am installing zcs-6.0.6_GA_2330.RHEL5_64.20100505212335 on the new server but get an error.

ERROR: /usr/bin/perl: symbol lookup error: /opt/zimbra/zimbramon/lib/x86_64-linux-thread-multi/auto/IO/IO.so: undefined symbol: Perl_Tstack_sp_ptr

# perl -v
This is perl, v5.10.1 (*) built for x86_64-linux-thread-multi

I've read on other forums that I need to downgrade my perl version. Is this the case? If so, further info would help. Thank you again.
