| | | define other email addresses Hello all!
I am new with Zimbra, and I am trying to deploy a pilot similar to my production environment. We have Exchange 2003, and in Exchange you can define several email address for one user, and make one of them the principal, so emails sent by this user are sent with "from" field equal to the principal address you defined for that user. In my case, this particular address belongs to a domain hosted on another server (not exchange server).
I canīt find how to accomplish this with Zimbra...
remember: you canīt use domains inside Zimbra for this, is a domain hosted in other server...
best regards and thanks in advance...

I canīt find how to accomplish this with Zimbra... | It's called a Persona, look in the user Preferrences Accounts tab. Quote:

| | | Thanks Bill,
I tried with "Persona", but available domains are only those defined in Zimbra. This is an external domain hosted in other server, and if I define this domain inside Zimbra, emails sent to this domain will keep inside Zimbra and will not reach the other server. |

| | | many thanks Bill, I didnīt found the correct threads, may be because I was not using the correct words in english... sorry...
I would like to ask two more questions if you donīt mind:
- is there any way to make this new account defined in "Persona" the default email account to send new messages?
- is there any way to define Return-Path, and make this equal to "from" address?
Kind regards,

| | | Thanks bill, I will try it tomorrow, but at first glance I canīt see this, I can only see:
Use this persona:
-When replying or forwarding messages sent to:
-Replying to or forwarding messages in folder(s):
and I think "Reply To" field is different than the Return Path
Regards and may thanks

| | | I found this, https://bugzilla.zimbra.com/show_bug.cgi?id=44470
I think at this momment is not possible to change the default email address for NEW messages...
Found also this one: return-path for personas
run this command:
zmprov mc default zimbraSmtpRestrictEnvelopeFrom FALSE
and "return-path" will be the same as "from"
