Customize autoComplete parameters

Hi all,

is it possible to start the autocomplete function after typing a number of characters? For example, if I type in the 'To' field the address user@domain.it, there is a way to start autocomplete at the third or at the fourth character?

If the question above is not possible, is there a way to increase the value of the timeout of autocomplete?
