Default Upgrade from FOSS to Network Edition on Debian

Hello,

I recently set up Zimbra so that a few people in our organization could test it. We use Debian on all of our Linux servers, so I set up the 7.1.2_GA_3268.DEBIAN5_64 DEBIAN5_64 FOSS edition of Zimbra. Now we would like to upgrade to a trial of the Network Edition, and I have a couple of questions:

1. Is it possible to run the Network Edition on Debian?

2. Is there a reason why the FOSS edition supports Debian, but the Network Edition does not?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Possibly but it's not a supported platform and you'd invalidate your support for Zimbra NE.

It's not built for that platform. The supported platforms for ZCS NE are the ones listed on the downloads page.

Thanks for the fast reply. It sounds like I will need to back up our FOSS installation and set up a fresh NE install on a different OS. It seems like Zimbra is doing itself and its customers a disservice by not supporting an OS as widely-used as Debian for the Network Edition, but I guess you just gotta play by the rules.
