Sorry, I should have given more information

We have a number of laptops distributed across a number of sites. Keeping track of who has what is a constant chore. I am trying to find a fool proof (!) system to keep track.

I was looking at setting the machines up as resource accounts but the frequency of people swapping machines amongst themselves is high and I'm convinced that this will eventually fail in one way or other.

What I would really like is some way to identify who is using each machine by how they log on to Zimbra. That way I can cut out the middle man and increase the chance of success.

Just a thought I had in an attempt to make life easier.
