Convert e-mails to text

Does anyone know a way to convert e-mails in the inbox to plain text.

I need to be able to access the files stored on the the Zimbra server as plain text. Some e-mails come in that have HTML in the body and this messes with the scripts we are trying to run. Stripping the HTML code out of the raw e-mail file is what i am looking to do.

I would like to convert all e-mails in a specific account to plain text. Is there a command that can manipulate a specific mailbox to only have text?

I know there is a setting to view e-mails as text. I am looking to actually store e-mails on the server as text for this user.
