Default Set Email retention period less than 30 days.

Hi,

Is there any option for the zimbra administrator to set the email retention period to less than 30 days( our company wants it to be 5 or 7 days).

Can anybody help on this. I run zimbra 7 OSE.

Thanks in advance

Riyas

This is not possible.

The 30 days limit is hardcoded into ZCS, in order to avoid "users issues" (user setting the limit so short they lose mails).

Thanks for the info Klug,

Can it be changed to five days at the code level?

Yes, if you really want to go through the effort of building and maintaining it for yourself. HD space is inexpensive these days, what's wrong with leaving the mail of the server and backing it up for the users?
