Default [SOLVED] Zimbra refuses to download from and external pop3 account

I can't download mail from an external pop3 account to Zimbra. The download fails and this is the error message:

EDIT: The following small text is untrue, just needed to disable Dovecot to fix the problem.

The external server I am trying to connect to has an invalid certificate (my ISP has a self signed certificate for localhost :/)

Could it be the reason why Zimbra refuses to connect and download messages from the server?

How can this behaviour be bypassed?

The problem was solved by DISABLING DOVECOT.

I forgot I had Dovecot installed and it was interfering with Zimbra.

Problem solved :/
