exporting mail max filesize ?

I've recently attempted to export two large email folders to local disk, and I have noticed that both exports end up having the exact same file size (both 1.6G)

Zimbra claims that the folders I have exported are 4gb and 6gb in size, so I doubt that Zimbra is actually completing the export correctly.

Is there a maximum "import/export volume" that zimbra can handle ?

Just email or the briefcase as well?

What happens if you import that file into a test account, does it look correct?

Not as far as I know, I have exported/imported mailboxes larger than that without problems.
