Default about the pop3 and smtp address

hello all,

My mail server domain is mydomain.com, then pop3 should be mydomain.com or pop.mydomain.com or pop3.mydomain.com?

OR another setting, because i can't use the outlook express to receive and send mail. But the web mail is ok.

thanks all,
mick

The pop3 can be what ever you want as long as DNS is configured properly.

Are you having problems send or receiving in Outlook Express?

You just need your client to connect to your zimbra server (at whatever your address is) and set the client to use either pop3 or imap.

Yes, of course you can. You'll need to make sure that 'use DNS' is set in the admin UI of zimbra, point your client SMTP outbound address to zimbra and that's it.

Come on, it's not that difficult to find.

Have a look in the Global Settings/MTA tab and it's called 'Enable DNS lookups'.

oh...yes..i found it. and default is checked.
now, i have two PC, two both are zimbra server, but one for testing.
Everything are ready, can use webmail, pop and smtp. But the live server can't, i don't know what problem is.
The main different of two server is testing server connect internet directly, and the live server is behind the firewall that only can send mail but can't receive in web mail.

Have any idea?
