| | | Need help with Zimbra - Syncing issues Okay... I had an installation of Zimbra installed and running, however I found that it was falling short of my needs so I stopped using it and decided to look at other solutions.
I was on the pfSense.org forums and there was a user there that suggested that I come to the forums here to find out why it was falling short of my needs as someone here might be able to suggest something. So here goes, hoefully someone can help me.
I'm looking for a mail/calendar/contact solution that will sync with my iPhone without using a hosted solution. The problem is, I'm a one man show, I do have another agent, so I guess you could say I'm a two-man show. Therefore, I cannot afford to go into the Network Edition. I need to get the following functionality with the community edition.
I don't like saying that I need a FREE solution because I'm willing to pay for addons or extensions. However, I can't sign up for any subscription plans.
I need to configure Zimbra (or some other solution) to allow for:
1. iPhone calendar (2-way sync)
2. Push emails
3. iPhone contacts (2-way sync)
In addition, if I can get blackberry and android devices with the same functionality that would be great. However, it is not necessary.
Can anyone help me or is Zimbra not going to cut it? |

| | | Hey Jim,
well based on your requirements the only issue you have is not being able to get the network edition (or appliance).
From what I understand (anyone chime in) that is the only way to get the mobile part of ZCS.
You could do imap/pop for your iphone but that won't work for everything you listed.
pretty much an issue of purchasing the feature you need, and yes mobile will work with all those devices (although for blackberry you'll need bbx and connector installed).
sorry couldn't give you a better solution. |

| | | Will the Z-Push/Funombal connector give me two-way syncronization of my calendar? One-way is useless for me, two-way is a must?
As far as Active Sync, is there a subscription to run that? |

| | | It does for me under my Android. I've got 1 person on an IPhone4, but no feed back from him.
I have both packages in place for my little home server.

| | | So you have installed Zimbra, Z-Push & Funambol connector?
Do I need to run all of that in order to accomplish my goal? |

No,
The only reason I'm running both is, because out of my total 3 users, 1 insists on Outlook's Calendar. So, I looked into Funambol.
Z-Push should be fine for the time being. I don't think you'll be able to do the BlackBerry, beyond IMAP mail, without Funambol though.
