inaccurate size displayed for mailbox

I have a user with a mailbox size of over 600 MB, however their is only 18 messages in inbox. These Messages total only 38 MB. I have run zmmzilbox and check folders for user and it only shows 18 messages. I do not understand what the issue is.

I found a couple of things. One area was in the sync folder. The other was briefcase. The issue was resolved in 6.0.12 server upgrade.

ok, i checked the mailsize in the meaintime with: zmmailbox -z -m <username> gf /

What version are you running? What OS? We are using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. I do not believe it is tied to the OS, but could very well be the OS. This was the outcome for our deployment. Also, I am sure you know, but this will include info for all mapped accounts/calendars etc.

Did you install Zimbra for RH? I do not recall seeing a version specifically for CentOS. Your Zimbra version is 6.2? If yes, then you will need to upgrade. Here is the upgrade path Wiki that I know of in case you start upgrade - OS Specific Platform Upgrades - Zimbra :: Wiki

sry there was a copy paste error. we use the current version 7.1.4
yes i installed it on unsupported centos

Ok, not a problem. We are running 7.1.3 and have not seen this issue since upgrade to 6.0.12. Sorry for all of the questions but are you using OLK (outlook connector)? in zmmailbox output, is it the same as UI?
If this is on a single mailbox, it could be a reporting issue so I would restore mailbox to restore_... and check size in restored folder.

im using the open source edition i found that big messages are in send and briefcase but it is hard for users get the size of an mailbox because in zwc the size are not summarized
