Unhappy Not able to receive mails.......

Dear all,

I have installed zimbra in rhel5 in vmware 7 and configured completely. There were
no errors and everything is fine. But when I open my server settings
option, all the services are started except antivirus and antispam.
Please find the screenshot for reference. In root console, i have run service zimbra restart command . Here, all the zimbra services are stopped and then
started again without any errors including antivirus and antispam too. I am logging into the admin console with this site
https://localhost.localdomain:7071/zimbraAdmin. After logging in, it shows the page as shown in attachment. Now my main problem is, I have created 2 test users. I have opened their mail(webmail) and sent test mail from one user to other. It says message sent successfully but no mail is
received by the other user. I am able to send the mail successfully but receiver is not receving it. Even if I click on Get mail Option,
nothing happens.Please help me out......

That is incorrect, you should be using a domain name for the url of the server. According to that screenshot you're the admin "@vmware,com" - is that really correct? I'd suggest you put a proper domain name in there.

You really should search the forums, this question has been asked and answered many times. Have you set-up a Split DNS (you need one)? Is the /etc/hosts file correct(it needs to be)? Go to the 'Verify ....' section of the split DNS article to confirm the setting but my suspicion is that your DNS A & MX records are incorrect (or non-existent) and the hosts may be incorrect.

Hi Bill,

Thank you very much for the reply.

I have removed my domain(vmware.com) and freshly created a new domain(in new
machine) called ostlays.com in server 2008 OS(in vmware). I have also
installed RHEL in another VM and my host file looks like this:

127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
::1 localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6

My Linux box hostname is localhost.localdomain. So while installing zimbra,
it gave a message that it cant resolve it using my dns and prompted me for
any virtual name. I have given mailserver. Again it said, it cant resolve it
with the dns. Hence I have created a forward lookup zone in dns like this:

mailserver Host(A) 10.10.2.2 static

I have checked the site given in ur previous post about split dns but I hope
the info given is for dns server configured in linux box, but I have
configured dns in server 2008 machine.I have created the below MX record in
my server 2008 dns machine. This looks like this:

(Same as parent folder) MailExchanger(MX) mailserver.ostlays.com static

My linux box ip: 10.10.2.2
DHCP Server: Server 2008 OS; IP 10.10.2.4 (installed in VMWare)
DNS Server: Server 2008 OS; IP 10.10.2.4 (installed in VMWare)

Please find my servers complete details below:

linux box hostname: localhost.localdomain
linux box virtual name(prompted while zimbra installation): mailserver

Now please guide me how to edit the /etc/hosts file and my dns(server 2008
OS). Still antivirus and antispam services are disabled only(as said in the
previous post).

Please help me..........

Thanks and Regards,

The details of what's needed in your hosts file and the required DNS A & MX records are fully explained in the Split DNS article.
