Default Not getting all mail

For some reason it appears as though I am not receiving all my mail.
I have mail forwarded from an outside server to our inside zimbra server. I have used it like this since version 5.x After installing 7.1.1 on my ubuntu 10.4 server we are seeing mail just vanish. I turned of spam filtering to see if that was the issue.
One thing I see is, I have a local account on the server, that is I log on with my username, so if I send mail to myusername@mailserver.domain.com the mail will go sometimes to my local (system account not zimbra) or to zimbra, users that do not, which is everyone else, the mail bounces back stating:
mail for zmail5.domain.com loops back to myself)

Mail doesn't just 'vanish'.

Sounds like you have a configuration problem, search the forums for the error message for details.

You also need to look in the log files to see what happens to inbound mail and see if there's any errors or what the destination of the mail is.

Default Mail logs

I have gotten a few different errors in the mail.log

Right now it seems that all that is getting through is spam
<user@zmail5.domain.com>, relay=local, delay=0.53, delays=0.49/0/0/0.04, dsn=5.1.1, status=bounced (unknown user: "user")

Go to the wiki and look at the article about improving the anti-spam system, look at the section about rejecting email for unlisted recipients. You should also search the forums for some other ideas and techniques about reducing spam.

Default Alias

After reading through Zimbra as secondary in split domain not accepting email to server hostname.
I was able to figure out that I needed to create an Alias, so I did so through the admin gui as of now it 'looks 'like it is working.

Will work on spam now but that was least of my worries at the moment, it needs retrained as the old server had 4-5 yrs of practice
Thanks
I think this can be marked solved....but not seeing that button
