Default Domain alias problem

Hi,
I am trying to add domain alias for some of domains, but whatever I type into "Domain Alias" field or whichever domain I select as "Target domain", I always get this error:
Target domain DOMAIN_NAME doesn't exist

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

I don't remember seeing an option in admin console to create domain alias, I guess its a new feature with 7.0.
Okay, I guess you did create the domain first before setting it as alias domain (not sure if it will do it in one step). Weird it says target domain here (hope the actual domain exists )

Anyway you always have the the cli way to do it with zmprov. Managing Domains - Zimbra :: Wiki

Good luck.

Hi Fyd,

thanx for the link, all fine, except for one detail:

WIKI says: The examples assumes domain.com already exists, but example.com does not
...and this is example:
zmprov createAliasDomain example.com domain.com

Which means, when creating DomainAlias, target domain must exist (of course, it holds the mail for primary domain and for alias), but AliasDomain must NOT exist prior to creating Alias.

My bad, yes you are right. It doesn't have to exist. So I guess it went fine with zmprov, no errors.

The error mentioned in first post, can you check in bugzilla if it has been mentioned anywhere?

@Labsy,

upgrade to 7.1.1. The problem is solved:

Bug 57513 – "Add A Domain Alias" don't work

There is a patch for 7.1.1. Shouldn't that solve all the problems?
