Default ZCS License Activation -- Testlab License??

Hi All,

So I have become aware that the new version of Zimbra requires that you activate your license...

I also read that there is a 5 activation limit on the license...

What are we Supposed to do for our testing lab?

Hi Phoenix,
What are you doing for testing? Running FOSS in testing is not really an option... and seeing as it seems even a small change can trigger a reauth request I am very concerned. Sounds like XP activation nightmare all over again.

for how many users you need the TEST LAB for if its anything < 50 users then you can just get NE 60 day trail as many as times you like, its online.

Yes and no...

Thought about this... The system doesn't produce a demo license unless you give it fairly real information (Good for them putting logic behind their form).

I don't really want to sign myself up for a marketing blitz every time I want a demo key.

It may be the only solution at this time... but it seems to me that there could be better ways to technically do this. (i.e. maybe override if the server uses a non-Internet usable ".local" domain) For 99% of testing the domain name won't matter, just that you have to create a DNS setup in your lab (something that should be done anyway). CNames work fine for zimlet or SOAP work that absolutely must have a domain hard coded.

Well, just my 2cents. -Cheers, Peter.
