i'm trying to setup the Multiserver as planned before, so i created :
    1. Proxy/ Ldap
    2. Mta
    3. Mailstore
    4. Mailstore2

i set the mx as proxy.domain.com
but if i try to browse the url https://proxydomain.com:7071/zimbraAdmin it doesn't work...
    where i'm mistaking?
The MX record should point to your MTA server.

    Hope that helps,

I activated the HTTP proxy, that's why i couldn't access the url. So now i'm able to access the webmail from the url, https://proxy.domain.com
but i still can't access to the Administration Console.

What can be wrong with it?

About the mx, i set it in my internal dns as mta, while in the external dns i set it as proxy cause the mta server doesn't have a public ip.

    Thank you for the help

I'm able to send mail but not able to get mail, the server refuse the connection on the port 25.

What should i set to get the connection on the mta? As i wrote before i've the proxy as mx on the dns external and mta as mx on the internal DNS.
Should i set something else on the proxy to let it forward the port 25 to the mta?

    proxy is not MTA
proxy will only do POP3,POP3(s), IMAP, IMAP(S), WEB, HTTPS ..not SMTP (port 25)

to loadbalance SMTP on same proxy address you also need to install MTA on proxy sever

proxy + MTA = POP3, IMAP, WEB and SMTP (port 25)

PS: Also on proxy address you cannot open Admin Console (:7071), admin console will open directly on MailBox server address

That's what i need to know!! thank you for the help.

May i ask you another question?
If i use POP3 instead of the IMAP service, should i still have to create a quota for the account? The mail in the POP3 are stored on the mailstore server or there's a cache in some other server?

I say this because i would know if i can create a server with small harddisk space, like 10MB per user.

    Thanks again

all "email data" for a user is only stored on Mailbox server, nowhere else.
When you assign a Quota to a user its actually implemented on the mailbox server your user is at.

but for Actaul used space please keep in mind 20-30% extra space used by DB, Indexes stuff per mailbox
you can read more about it in "STORAGE CALCULATION EXAMPLE" section of the below link
