ldap external authentication

hi,
I configured domain to use external LDAP authentication. In the "Configure Authentication" menu, the test of authentication works perfectly. But when I want to log in as a user (created or not) It fails with message:
" The username or password is incorrect. Verify that CAPS LOCK is not on, and then retype the current username and password"
Please help. I want to buy a professional version, even have a dedicated server for that, but cannot move on without getting this work.

Without seeing what your search is it's almost impossible to tell what the problem is. Have you looked at some of the other authentication 'problem' threads in the forums? Have you looked at the information in the wiki? What are the results of an ldapsearch on the criteria you're using for authentication?
