Question HTTP Compression and Caching

Is there a tried and tested solution (hardware proxy/compression appliance) that has been used with Zimbra for compression of Ajax based interface to use it over slow bandwidth networks.

In several sites of Africa, the Ajax based interface is almost not possible to open, specially because of the initial 2-3MB download required upon logon. The connectivity is always-on but the bandwidth is 64kbps/128kbps only.

I am looking for an alternative method apart from using the Zimbra Desktop for such users.

Hi,

since I am using ZD Client using slower UTMS connections,
I would also like to know whether there is some compression
available.

Cheers, Jörg
