Default Is it just me? (Shared Contacts in Outlook)

Is this just me being foolish?

When I share a newly created Contacts folder in the Zimbra interface called something like, 'Outlook Contacts', I go into Outlook and see the message in my Inbox about the share being created. I then click on 'Accept' and the share mail disappears.
When back in Zimbra I see the newly shared 'Outlook Contacts' folder and all the Contacts within, however this folder never shows up in Outlook, I only ever get the original 'Contacts' and 'Emailed Contacts' folders. I press sned/receive, I even try uninstalling, re-installing and then copying over all the mail from Zimbra to my Outlook Zimbra profile again (a process which makes my 2GHZ Xeon Workstation grind to a halt and takes over an hour)

Please tell me that I am doing something stupid and that it isn't just that these will never show up in Outlook!

Surely it's just me yes?

Maybe not, it might just mean nobody here has seen it. Which release of Zimbra is this?

Thanks Phoenix!

It's on the latest version 4.0.3 for Redhat 32bit, running on CentOS 4.4, upgraded from 4.0.1 for same OS.

So this should work then? I should be able to see the other Contact folders yes?

If you can at least assure me of this then I only have to get it working as opposed to it being a missing feature!

Thanks again

I believe that should be OK. I assume you're also using Outlook 2003 with the latest ZCO Did this stop working after an upgrade or has it never worked? connector which I think was 4.0.278. Have you tried recreating the profile?

Default I think sharing in Outlook is Different

I believe that Outlook works differently. If you want to view those contacts from Outlook, I think you need to explciitly "open another user's store" from within Outlook.

To be honest Phoenix I'm not sure! I don't think it worked before but am just guessing!

dkarp: Do you mean, 'Open Shared Contacts' within the Contacts section in Outlook? If so, I choose the Admin@domain.com user from the GAL, (the User that set up the Contact folder I wish to share) but just get, 'Unable to display the folder. Your profile does not support this operation for this User.'

Is this the way you meant?

Here's how it works if you are an outlook user:

* Someone shares something with you
* You recieve the share message
* You go to File->Open->Other Users Mailbox and select the user that has shared something with you
* You sync

Another folder tree will be added for this users mailbox and whatever they have shared with you will be available there.

Thanks Sam,

and thanks also for not just giving a 'rtfm' reply!

I get it now. However the 'File, Open, Open User's Account' is greyed out on my Outlook.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks Guys

This is on Outlook 2003 but without any Service Packs installed and version 4.0.3GA_405_4.0.273 Outlook Connector.

Don't worry about that last point.

Just looked on another Users Outlook and their 'Open Users Mailbox' is not greyed out. They have Office SP1 installed so I'll do this and try again.
