Default TLS in zimbra open 7.1

Hi everyone,

I need to know what is TLS, what hapen if I unchecked it from the administration console? and please describe me how to use it, because I have to connect zimbra with liferay, specifically I need to authenticate zimbra users with an external ldap in order to use my portal aplications.

Thanks for you time.

TLS has nothing to do with external authentication.

TLS is Transport Layer Security. In plain English it means encryption for the connection between your mail clients using IMAP or POP and your zimbra server.
This makes it much more difficult for any hackers to see the contents of the emails as they are sent and received from the server.

As regards your external authentication requirement, perhaps someone else who has experience with external LDAP authentication can chime in.
