Multi server proxy problems

So this is the setup

            RR-DNS
         _____|_____
      PubIP          PubIP
-------|-------------|-------
         |                 |
      Proxy          Proxy
         |                 |
       Mail             Mail

So, manually connecting to each IP does nothing i get a 111 error. Firewall 1-1 is sound and testing through in the logs, the connection is reaching the proxy box. All proxy ports enabled on the proxy box, tcpdump tcp port 80 or w/e port is showing a connection coming in then it just dies.

I can't figure out what I'm supposed to do every document I find on proxy seems to be for version 5 or 6 I can't find anything relating to zmproxyconfgen that is useful or anything relating to the config i'm attempting to setup.

Does anyone ahve any ideas on where to look to get this running?

I can now get a login page but when I login i receive 502 bad gateway errors. any ideas?
