Default [SOLVED] zmconfigd not running

Dear All,

I had recently install a new installation of ZCS 7.11 open source and the installation went fine.

but I do see the following error when i do a zmcontrol status that

zmconfigd Stopped

zmconfigd is not running

I searched the forums but no good solution.
the only thing i have found that someone says it was solved by downgrading it to earlier version. that is 7.1.0

Infact I have installed a zcs open source 7.1.0 on another server and no errors and its working fine

help would be greatly apprecited

here below a part of zmconfigd.log

I'm algo getting something similar to this. I get an OutOfMemoryError exception in the zmconfigd.log file. Everything before 7.1.1 was working fine...

RHEL5 has known issues running zmconfigd correctly.

Dear quanah,

Thanks and apprecite your reply.
by the way I did forget to mention in my last post that everything is working
i mean sending and receiving mails

Is this the problem with only OS edition or with the NE also..

and is this issue gonna be dealt with soon

cause we will plan to go for the NE after we just evaluate the OS edition
infact i do have ( Release 7.1.0_GA_3140.RHEL5_64_20110329150833 CentOS5_64 FOSS edition.) about a month ago on a different domain workin fine and this ver (Release 7.1.1_GA_3196.RHEL5_64_20110527011124 CentOS5_64 FOSS edition ) just installed couple of days back which has the issue of zmconfigd not running

thanks once again and apprecite your help

regards

simon

The problem is with RHEL or possibly with Java, but not with Zimbra. So I can't give you a timeline on a fix.

I have this problem on Ubuntu 10.04 x64 with MultiServer installation. ldap + mailstore + mta. All say that zmconfig stopped.
Forgot to say, that it was clean installation. From scratch.

Make sure and apply the 7.1.1 patch, as it makes zmconfigdctl more able to find the zmconfigd process if it has had a pid of "zero" returned. Also check ps -eaf to see if zmconfigd is running or not, regardless of what zmcontrol status shows.
